The Lakewood Resource & Referral Center (LRRC) is a one stop help center providing the low-income residents of Lakewood Township, Ocean County and the surrounding areas with a comprehensive array of social service information, referrals, counseling and community education. Our services include helping clients with obtaining health insurance, applying for nutritional and utility assistance programs, first-time home buying purchasing counseling, rental assistance, and assisting with disability applications. We provide program information, application assistance, educational seminars, and advocacy for complex issues. In one month, the LRRC’s 11 employees answer more than 1,500 phone inquiries, conduct an average of 270 counseling sessions, assist more than 700 walk-in clients, and teach classes for first-time home buyers, among other community, health care, and educational services.

The LRRC is a federally designated 501(c)(3) community-based organization that began operations in 2005. We are a division of CHEMED (Center for Health, Education, Medicine and Dentistry), a federally qualified health center which opened in 2008 and provides primary and preventative medical care to all, including those who are uninsured and underinsured.
