Emergency Assistance Available for Utilities Starting 3/15/2021

O.C.E.A.N., Inc. will be processing Emergency Assistance for past-due gas and electric bills beginning today (March 15) until the end of June. If you are income-eligible for HEAP/USF and have a past-due balance on your gas or electric bill, e-mail the bill to [email protected]. Specify in the e-mail what city you live in.

Alternatively, O.C.E.A.N., Inc representatives will be at the LRRC to accept applications in-person. To schedule an appointment to meet with an O.C.E.A.N., Inc. representative at the LRRC, call 732-942-9292 ext. 9-106.

As a reminder, the utility shutoff moratorium is extended until June 30. That means that no electric, gas, or water utilities may be disconnected at this time. However, you will eventually need to pay the full balance on your utility bills. Therefore, the LRRC does not recommend ignoring these bills. There is utility assistance available, and we are happy to help guide you through these programs.

Please see the documents below for snapshots of additional assistance available to those who are eligible and not eligible for HEAP/USF.

If you have any questions or would like to speak with a case worker to help navigate these options, please call our automated scheduling system at 732-523-1789.
