Homeownership Education
The LRRC Offers an Online Homeownership Education Certification Course
Buying a home is complex, and it is easy to get overwhelmed when information is thrown at you from all directions. The LRRC Homeownership Education course will walk you through the pre-purchase steps to consider, the mortgage application process, what to expect post-purchase, and common questions and answers. After completing the course, you will have the opportunity to meet with an LRRC housing counselor. You will also receive a housing education certificate, which is a requirement for many first-time homebuyer mortgage programs.
How to register:
The LRRC homeownership education course is conveniently available on an online platform.
Course Length:
The course is approximately four hours long and does not have to be completed in one sitting.
Cost:
The $35 fee entitles you to all course components and follow-up appointments with an LRRC housing counselor. Each person must register and take the course independently, including married couples.
Who Should Register:
We recommend registering for this course as soon as you begin to think about buying a home, ideally one to three years before looking at homes for purchase. To access special first-time homebuying products, any spouse who is earning income may be required to take the course.
