Utility Shutoff Moratorium Extended Until June 30, 2021
The LRRC is pleased to announce that the utility shutoff moratorium has been extended until June 30. That means that no electric, gas, or water utilities may be disconnected at this time. If you received notice of an impending shutoff, you can breathe easier knowing that no utility shutoffs are happening now.
Although you are not at risk of having your utilities disconnected at this time, you will eventually need to pay the full balance on your utility bills. Therefore, the LRRC does not recommend ignoring these bills. There is utility assistance available, and we are happy to help guide you through these programs.
Please see the documents below for snapshots of additional assistance available to those who are eligible and not eligible for HEAP/USF.
If you have any questions or would like to speak with a case worker to help navigate these options, please call our automated scheduling system at 732-523-1789.
