Section 8 Housing Voucher (HUD) Applications Open for a Limited Time
Applications Accepted November 2–10, 2026
The Lakewood Township Residential Assistance Program (LTRAP) has announced that it will begin accepting applications for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program on Monday, November 2, 2026. Applications will be accepted for a limited time, through Tuesday, November 10, 2026.
The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program is a federal rental assistance program that helps eligible low-income households afford housing in the private rental market. Participants pay a portion of their income toward rent, with the remaining eligible amount subsidized through the program.
Application Period:
- Opens: Monday, November 2, 2026, at 9 AM
- Closes: Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM
- Apply Online: ltrap.org
Who Is Eligible?
The program is open to very low-income households and individuals, including families, single individuals, elderly persons, and persons with disabilities.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, and household income must not exceed the applicable Very Low Income limit established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Federal regulations require that 75% of new admissions come from extremely low-income households. As a result, households with higher incomes, even if eligible, may experience longer waiting periods.

- Families, elderly persons, and single persons with disabilities, ahead of other single-person households.
Applications not selected in the lottery will be discarded. Lottery results will be available on the LTRAP website.
